Data Platform (Bring Your Own BI/Data Share) – How to Connect Microsoft Power BI to OneAdvanced Data Platform

The following document describes the steps required to connect Power BI to OneAdvanced Data Platform. This applies to both the Data Share and Bring Your Own BI services.

Microsoft will, from time to time, update Power BI resulting in differences between the images included here and what you see in your version of Power BI. OneAdvanced will endeavour to keep this article up-to-date but can not guarantee full alignment to Power BI at any given time.
  1. After launching Power BI, Click Data then More
  2. Use the search field to locate Snowflake
  3. Double-click the Snowflake icon.
  4. Enter the Server URL provided to you separately and the Warehouse as below then click OK
  5. Click Microsoft Account then Sign in
  6. On the next screen, pick the signed-in account associated with Data Platfor/Snowflake.
  7. On the next screen, click Connect
  8. When the data navigator is displayed, you will be presented with the relevant tables available. Normal Power BI data load, import or transformation processes can be followed from this point.
