How To - Add Microsoft Stream Videos to a Desk

Katy Harrison Updated by Katy Harrison

Embedding videos to your Desk is a great way of sharing content within your organisation, and Microsoft Stream works well with the iFrame applet to display either a single video or a channel with several videos.

Here's the steps:

Sharing a single video

  1. Publish your video to Stream and click to Share the video.
  1. Go to the 'Embed' tab. Choose whether you want the video to autoplay, and whether you want to 'Show info' - you can see what this looks like on the preview below.

Ignore the video size - this will be determined by the size of iFrame applet you add to your desk.

  1. Select the URL section of the embed code and copy (CTRL+C) this text.

Don't use the copy button as it will copy all of the text, you just need the middle section.

  1. Head to your MyWorkplace desk, and add an iFrame applet.
  2. Click 'Add URL', paste the copied text into the URL field and hit 'Check Link'. Add your title and subtitle, then hit Save.
Success! Your video is now ready on your desk.
The video will only be viewable by authorized viewers, so make sure to check the permissions in Stream.

Sharing a stream channel

  1. Go to your stream channel page. Click the ellipses on the right of the channel name, then 'Share'.
  1. Go to the 'Embed' tab. Choose how you want your videos to be ordered.
